One person dead after Coquitlam shooting: RCMP

One man is dead after a Burnaby-Coquitlam shooting in a typically quiet neighbourhood on Sunday. As Angela Bower reports, police are still investigating.

A man has died after a shooting near the Burnaby-Coquitlam border on Sunday evening.

According to the Coquitlam RCMP, officers were called around 9:20 p.m. to Foster Avenue and North Road. When they arrived, Mounties found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Despite life-saving efforts from officers, the man died at the scene.

Investigators say the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in to work with the RCMP.
