Seattle Mariners unveil unique food creations for MLB All-Star weekend

British Columbians looking to head to Seattle for MLB All-Star festivities will have the chance to try some interesting new food and drink creations.

The Seattle Mariners public relations team wrote a blog on the new menu slate, which features some regional twists on some ballpark favourites. Many are done through collaborations with local restaurants.

If you’re feeling like something fancier than a foot-long hot dog, you can try a foot-long crab roll instead. The dish features Dungeness crab salad with a lemon tarragon dressing on a foot-long roll topped with caviar.

In the same vein, there will also be a crab pizza available. It also features Dungeness crab with butter, dill, parmesan, and herbs on top of a sourdough crust.

For fans of salmon, a bread bowl filled with Alaskan chowder will be up for grabs.

If you’re looking for a snack, there will be sweet and spicy glazed pretzels with furikake and chili flakes available for munching.

For dessert, you can get beer and Cracker Jack-flavoured ice cream through a collaboration between a brewery and a creamery in the city.

“We’re thrilled to showcase a diverse roster of local vendors and one-of-a-kind cuisine to fans coming from around the globe,” said Catie Griggs, Seattle Mariners’ president of business operations. “This week is about highlighting the best of the Pacific Northwest.”

The new food items will only be available for MLB All-Star weekend, which runs from July 7 to 11 at T-Mobile Park. However, it’s not clear how much the items will cost.
