YVR arrivals delayed due to NAV Canada staffing issues

For the third time in a matter of weeks, Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is seeing flights delayed due to staffing issues with NAV Canada.
In a tweet, the airport says there are “significant delays to some arriving flights” because of “resource issues” with the navigation body.

According to YVR’s website, a slew of domestic and international flights from various airlines have been delayed throughout the afternoon.
Last month, a similar issue caused widespread delays at the airport.

NAV Canada has previously stated that the delays are the result of staffing issues as the country deals with a nationwide shortage of air traffic controllers.
The union representing air traffic controllers has previously stated that the constant delays are a symptom of overly-demanding work conditions for those in the profession.
