One person has died after a crash in the area of Hastings Street and Willingdon Avenue in Burnaby.

The RCMP says the crash involved two vehicles.

As a result, Hastings Street has been shut down between Alpha and Rosser while investigators work the scene. Willingdon Avenue is also closed, between Pender and Albert streets.

Police say the RCMP’s Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been deployed to the area.

Police say Hastings Street is expected to be closed for several hours.
