The Surrey RCMP is releasing new details about the vehicles and trailers that may be in the possession of the mother suspected of abducting her two children in B.C.

An Amber ALERT was issued for the children on Wednesday, July 19, two days after the children were not returned to their father in Surrey after a vacation with their 45-year-old mother.

New information about vehicles, trailers

According to Mounties, the mother and her boyfriend are believed to have access to a green 1996 Mitsubishi Delica, in which the driver’s side is on the right.

The RCMP notes the vehicle is registered to the mother, though it is uninsured and it’s unclear if there are any licence plates on the van.

The RCMP is also now providing more information about two of the three trailers that were seen being towed by a vehicle Verity was previously seen driving.

One is described as a horse trailer that was last seen on July 15 in Kamloops being pulled by a dark blue 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 truck, with B.C. licence plate SJ2 708.

The horse trailer is described as a white 2018 Maverick Highside horse trailer, with B.C. licence plate 059 94K.

The large 5th-wheel trailer was last seen in Chilliwack on June 30.

It is described as a brown 2018 Cougar trailer, model 368, with B.C. licence plate WPM 71B.

The third trailer was previously described as a large travel trailer that was last seen in Merritt on July 7.

No further information has been provided about this trailer.

“We are asking the public to continue to remain vigilant, and report any possible sightings or information that could lead us to locate [the children],” says Staff Sergeant Dave Strachan, Surrey RCMP Major Crime Section. “While the last confirmed sighting of [the mother] was July 15 in Kamloops, we know that she has access to multiple vehicles/trailers and may have travelled elsewhere since that time. Our investigators remain open to all possibilities and leads.”

Last confirmed sightings

The last confirmed sighting of the two siblings was at a gas station in Merritt on July 7.

The mother was last seen at a Kamloops grocery store on July 15. Police have said, based on surveillance footage, the children were not seen with her.

According to the RCMP, the siblings left Surrey on June 28. It’s unclear when their father last had contact with the kids.

Abduction appears to have been pre-planned: Surrey RCMP

In an earlier update, the RCMP said it’s believed the abduction was pre-planned and that the mother, her father, and boyfriend moved “off the grid” with the children, and that they are living in trailers somewhere in a rural area.

Concern continues to grow for the two children.

Anyone who sees the children or mother is asked to not approach them and to call 9-1-1 and mention the Amber ALERT.

A dedicated tip line has also been set up for any additional information related to the Amber ALERT: 604-599-7676 or email surreyamberalert@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
