Nearly 4,000 hit by power outages in Burnaby

Almost 4,000 BC Hydro customers were affected by brief power outages in Burnaby’s Brentwood neighbourhood on Monday night.
The power went off in two separate outages, with 2,314 customers losing power at 9:18 p.m. and another 1,564 losing power at 9:20 p.m.
The two outages overlapped each other, according to a map provided by BC Hydro, with both stretching through the area around Brentwood Town Centre SkyTrain Station.

The outages didn’t last long though, as BC Hydro had both restored by just after 11:30 p.m.
BC Hydro hasn’t listed a definite cause for either outage, as the cause for the larger of the two is listed as “other,” while the smaller outage is still under investigation.
