2 people hospitalized after Surrey house fire

Two people are being treated in the hospital after a fire broke out at a home in Surrey’s Clayton neighbourhood Tuesday morning.

According to a spokesperson with the Surrey Fire Service, crews were called just after 9 a.m. to the two-storey home on 192A Street, arriving to heavy smoke and fire.

The two-alarm blaze saw 26 firefighters called to tend to it, crews say, and was knocked down after roughly an hour.

Crews confirm that two people were taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation and burns. The condition of the two is not known at this time.

Fire crews will remain on the scene to carry out an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
