Nearly $150K, drugs seized in Shambhala Music Festival arrest

Mounties in Salmo, B.C. say over $145,000 and 100 grams of drugs were seized in an arrest at Shambhala Music Festival.
At the tail end of the festival on July 25, security notified police about a possible “large amount of drugs” that were allegedly being sold by an attendee from his RV.
“Police arrived and were directed to the RV in question where a large amount of money, drugs, and drug paraphernalia were located,” reads a release from the Salmo RCMP.
Mounties arrested a 45-year-old man from Vancouver in connection with the incident.
Shambhala Music Festival’s website features a “Health, Safety & Harm Reduction” section in which its code of conduct specifically advises against “the possession, or sale of illegal substances.”
The festival notes breaching its code of conduct “will result in a warning and/or immediate ejection from the festival” and can result in law enforcement being notified.
Mounties say the man is now facing criminal charges and notes the investigation is ongoing.
