Coquihalla crash slows northbound traffic near Carolin Mine Road

A crash on the Coquihalla Highway was affecting northbound traffic near Carolin Mine Road Friday afternoon.

According to DriveBC, the incident blocked the right lane on Highway 5 for part of the afternoon — reopening just before 4:30 p.m.

The crash happened about halfway between the Coquihalla Summit and Hope and came as many headed out of the Lower Mainland for the B.C. Day long weekend.

DriveBC says crews are still on scene, and it warns travellers to “expect congestion.”
