Much of the South Okanagan town had been ordered to evacuate because of the Eagle Bluff Fire, which had jumped the border from Washington state on Saturday and has been burning west of Osoyoos since.
At one point, the wildfire had more than 700 properties under evacuation order and an additional 2,000 on alert.

Numbers from the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen say two Osoyoos properties remain on evacuation order and 66 are still on evacuation alert.
“An Evacuation Order may need to be reissued; however, if that is deemed necessary, the Evacuation Order process will re-commence,” the Town of Osoyoos warned.
The BC Wildfire Service says the Eagle Bluff Fire is currently burning at 3,044 hectares in size and is still classified as being out of control.
