Road trippers looking to cross the border between B.C. and Washington are likely in for a long day, as crossings are already seeing some hours-long waits over the long weekend.
As of Saturday at 2:15 p.m., the Peace Arch crossing has been sitting at about an hour and a half wait, whereas the Pacific Highway crossing is slightly longer with about a 2-hour wait.
Those looking for a shorter commute can head to either the Aldergrove or Sumas crossings which both have between 20 to 30-minute wait times
Long weekends can mean longer wait times at the border, especially on holiday Mondays and early evenings. #KnowBeforeYouGo and plan your trip around them: https://t.co/6BuwkXkZLm

On Friday, the borders fluctuated between wait times of about one to two hours, or less.
CBSA Superintendent Daphne Chin told CityNews many people like to maximize their long weekends, meaning border crossings will likely slow down on Sunday and then pick up again Monday.
