A multi-home fire in Surrey on Wednesday evening has left at least 20 people displaced and multiple houses damaged.
Callers to CityNews reported traffic delays near the intersection of 72nd Avenue and 192 Street just after 6:15 p.m.

Surrey Fire Service Deputy Chief Shelley Morris says 33 firefighters and 10 trucks responded to the call — where they found four homes in close proximity all sustaining extensive damage.
“Firefighters first got a call to a garage on fire, which was quickly spreading,” she said.

Morris says the fire was mostly knocked down by crews about 40 minutes after they arrived, and no firefighters or residents were injured in the blaze.
While no one was injured, Morris says that at least 20 people won’t be able to sleep in their homes tonight — although some have already found temporary accommodation.
“Almost all of them do have insurance in a place to stay, and we are looking for lodging right now for a couple of people,” she said.
Morris adds that crews were still on scene just before 9 p.m. — sweeping the area for hotspots and making sure everyone’s pets were accounted for.
