Crews respond to fire near Richmond hotel

Crews responded to a fire reportedly involving trees near a Richmond hotel Tuesday morning.

The trees in front of the Holiday Inn hotel on Bridgeport Road were engulfed in flames, a staff member told CityNews just before 6 a.m.

As a result, Bridgeport Road between No. 4 and Gage roads was closed for a couple of hours earlier in the morning but has since reopened.

It’s not yet clear how the fire was started.
