The change to route 44 will offer a “one-seat ride” and extend it six times daily.
“We are thrilled to see the return of bus service travelling between Dundarave in West Vancouver and UBC. It is a huge win for our community and will serve our residents well, especially our students; we welcome the newly-extended route of the 44,” said West Vancouver Mayor Mark Sager.

TransLink says it is increasing service on other common university communte routes as well — serving Simon Fraser University and Capilano University students with its update in addition to those at UBC.
On September 4, 54 total routes will see service adjustments of some kind as part of the change — some of which will only be increasing at peak daily traffic times. TransLink makes seasonal updates four times per year and says it makes these changes based on “seasonal patterns and recent trends in customer demand.”
“As our region continues to experience rapid population growth, these service changes will help ensure accessible and efficient public transit in communities across Metro Vancouver. They will also enable us to serve more neighbourhoods and connect residents to key destinations, such as business hubs and post-secondary schools,” said TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn.
TransLink is asking anyone who needs more information on updated transit routes to visit their website for all of the details.
