Surrey teenager charged in 2022 stabbing death: IHIT

A Surrey teen has been charged with manslaughter exactly one year after the death of Leroy Billy, according to the Lower Mainland’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
On Aug. 18, 2022, the Surrey RCMP responded to reports of an ongoing assault at the intersection of 184 Street and Fraser Highway in Surrey’s Clayton Heights neighbourhood.

Billy, 45, was found suffering from stab wounds and later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
The accused is a 17-year-old whose name will not be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
