Another foot has washed up on the shores of B.C.

The Coroners Service has confirmed another limb has washed up on the shores of B.C., this time in Victoria.

The agency says in an email to CityNews that it was informed in July about the remains being found on Gonzales Beach.

The Coroners Service says it has since confirmed the remains to be human, adding, “as a result, this is now an open investigation.”

Because of the ongoing probe, few other details are available at this time.

This isn’t the first time a foot has washed up on B.C.’s beaches — in fact, there have been 15 reported to the BC Coroners Service between 2007 and 2018.

“As of October 2021 each of these discoveries has been identified through DNA testing,” the agency said in its email.

The Coroners Service confirms the discovery last month was the first foot reported since 2018.

According to a map shared by the agency, most of the feet were found on beaches around the Strait of Georgia. They all belonged to missing people from various years.

No link has been identified between any of the remains.
