Pedestrian hit by bus in North Vancouver dies

A 55-year-old man has died of his injuries after getting hit by a charter bus in North Vancouver on Wednesday, according to the North Vancouver RCMP.

A pedestrian who was hit by a charter bus in the area of Marine Drive and Capilano Road in North Vancouver Wednesday afternoon has died, according to the RCMP.

The individual, being identified only as a 55-year-old man from North Vancouver, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

“This was a tragic incident resulting in the loss of life,” said North Vancouver RCMP spokesperson Const. Mansoor Sahak.

“The RCMP are conducting a thorough investigation, and are working with partner agencies including Integrated Collision Analyst Reconstruction Service (ICARS) to determine what happened.”

The cause of the collision is still unclear.

“The driver of the charter bus remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators,” the RCMP said.

The North Vancouver RCMP is asking any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the collision to contact investigators at 604-985-1311 and quote file 23-18168.
