Multiple evacuation orders rescinded or downgraded in B.C.’s southern Interior

Multiple evacuation orders related to the Crater Creek wildfire and Upper Park Rill Creek wildfire in the southern Interior have been rescinded or downgraded.
An evacuation alert issued on Aug. 17 for an area northwest of Keremeos along Highway 3 was rescinded Friday afternoon, due to the threat level of the Crater Creek wildfire significantly diminishing, according to the district.
As of Friday afternoon, 80 properties remain on evacuation alert and 13 remain on an evacuation order due to the Crater Creek wildfire.

The alert, originally issued by the Regional District Okanagan-Similkameen, included the Lower Similkameen Indian Band, and properties on 10th Avenue, Ashnola Road, Cory Road, East Road, Highway 3, and River Road.
Northeast of Keremeos, evacuation orders for areas just outside of Oliver have also been rescinded by the district due to the decreasing threat of the Upper Park Rill Creek wildfire. The evacuation order in place for 96 properties in the area of Grand Oro Road and Yellow Brick Road has been demoted to an alert.
Other properties in the Willowbrook area, west of Willowbrook, on Green Lake Road, on White Lake Road, and west of Grand Oro Road have had their evacuation alerts rescinded.
