Teenage motorcyclist injured in Delta collision

Police say a teenage motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision on Sunday afternoon in North Delta.

According to the Delta Police Department (DPD), the 17-year-old collided with a white sedan on 80th Avenue at 113B Street just before 3:45 p.m., receiving “serious but non-life-threatening injuries” as a result.

Police are now appealing to the public to see if anyone witnessed the collision, or may have dashcam or CCTV footage of the collision.

“Whenever a motorcycle is involved in a collision, the likelihood of a more serious injury is present, regardless of factors that contributed to the cause of the crash. At this time, the cause of this particular collision has not been determined, and the witnesses and video sought will aid investigators in determining the cause,” DPD Traffic Sgt. Harvey Sidhu stated in a release.

Anyone with any information regarding the collision is asked to contact the DPD at (604)946-4411 and quote Tip file 2023-22934.
