$59.8M Vancouver mansion most expensive listing in Canada: survey

A Vancouver mansion listed for almost $60 million has put B.C. at the top of the list for most expensive homes for sale by province, according to a new report.

Point2, an “international real estate search portal” that covers trends and news, says the five-bedroom, eight-bathroom home along Belmont Avenue in Vancouver’s West Point Grey area boasts a square footage of 12,410. It is listed on the market for $59,800,000.

That’s a massive jump over Prince Edward Island’s most expensive home, which is listed at $3,250,000, and is number 10 on the list of provinces.

The Vancouver mansion features an open living room, dining room, and family room, as well as a 1,404 sq. ft. patio, rooftop deck, and panoramic views of the ocean, mountains, and city.

The second-most expensive listing on the Point2 list in B.C. is in the Ocean Park neighbourhood of South Surrey. Described as “the pinnacle of luxury living,” the Eagle Bluff Estate comes with a price tag of $27,999,999.

This home is a two-level “ranch” style property, with five bedrooms, seven baths, and 12,480 sq. ft. of space. It also comes with a “Chef’s Dream Kitchen,” a pool, hot tub, patio spaces, and “oversized garages.”

The two-level rancher on 123rd Street includes a “dream kitchen”, an oceanside pool, hot tub, and meticulously manicured grounds.

The third-most expensive B.C. listing highlighted by Point2 is in Burnaby along Gordon Avenue. The property, listed for $5,190,000, comes with seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

On a national level, Point2 says the second-most expensive home for sale by province is in Ontario, with a price of $34,981,778. The multi-room Bloor Street apartment comes with an infinity pool, garden terrace, and many of the bells and whistles you might expect from a luxury metropolitan building.

Quebec came in third on the national list, with a property listed for $29,000,000, and Alberta jumped in at fourth, with a Meadow Drive property for sale for $13,950,000. Nova Scotia rounded out the top five with a property listed at $7,200,000.
