Several park-goers tell CityNews they like to be scared because it’s “thrilling” and “fun watching people get scared.”

Fright Fest’s new addition this year includes The Void, which takes visitors through the Howling Caves where a monstrous beast is rumoured to be found.

There are a total of eight interactive haunted houses featured at Playland this year, one of which is Carn-Evil.

Within Carn-Evil, several of the clowns say they pride themselves on their ability to hide in dark confined spaces for long periods of time — awaiting the perfect conditions for a scare.

Alongside the haunted houses, a handful of rides can also be enjoyed. The Hellevator, which shoots you over 200 feet into the sky, is one of them.

“I almost passed out. I felt my organs go up to my throat,” one rider told CityNews.

“You just can’t breathe,” another said.

Fright Nights will be running on selected nights during the month of October.
