Metro Vancouver city tops list of Canada’s best-valued poutines: report

The best bang for your buck for a Canadian delicacy can be found in Metro Vancouver, a recent analysis has found.

Entertainment website CanadaCasino has shared a list of what it has determined to be the best-valued poutines in the country. Richmond, B.C., came in at number one.

The analysis, which examined several restaurants in cities across Canada, lists the average price for a poutine in Richmond at $8.42. That’s more than $2 cheaper than the second-place city on the list, Hamilton, Ont. Richmond is the only B.C. city that made the top 10.

The Metro Vancouver city is also tied for third place when it comes to the average rating of the dish. Its 4.62 ranking is equal to that of Toronto’s, behind Hamilton and Windsor, Ont.

The methodology for the research involved looking at the top five restaurants on Uber Eats that served poutine in each city. It factored in the prices listet and the ratings for each establishment. Chain restaurants were not included in the analysis.

When it comes to the priciest poutines in the country, the report says those can be found in the province where the dish was born. Four of the top five cities with the most expensive poutines were found in Quebec, with Longueuil taking the top spot with an average price of $15.85.

Montreal, Gatineau, and Laval also found themselves in the top five priciest cities for the French-Canadian delicacy.

Kelowna ranked sixth on the list of most expensive poutines with an average price of $12.82, while Burnaby came in ninth with an average price of just under $12.
