Search crews looking for missing 80-year-old Whistler resident Robert McKean are appealing to the public for help to identify someone who police say may have seen the senior on the day of his disappearance.
In a Facebook post on Friday, the Whistler Search and Rescue Society shared a photo that appears to show a man riding a bike, time-stamped less than an hour before police say McKean was last seen.

The society indicates that the RCMP shared the photo with it, hoping to speak with the person shown.
The RCMP previously said that McKean was last seen on Oct. 9 around 10:20 a.m. walking his dog at the top of Alpine Way in the resort’s Alpine Meadows neighbourhood.
The senior is described as 5’6″ tall, 130 pounds, with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a green jacket, a baseball cap, blue jeans, and a blue Vancouver Canucks hoodie.

On Wednesday, Mounties advised the public to check their yards, sheds, and basements in the Alpine area of town.
Police have also shared a photo of McKean’s dog, Lexi, a white-and-ginger-coloured cavalier spaniel.

Anyone with information on McKean’s whereabouts is asked to call the Sea to Sky-Whistler RCMP at 604-932-3044.
