North Vancouver man seriously hurt in hit-and-run: RCMP

Mounties in North Vancouver say a pedestrian was seriously hurt in a hit-and-run on Wednesday night.

The North Vancouver RCMP says it received reports of the incident in the area of Marine Drive and Capilano Road at around 9:20 p.m. When officers arrived, they say they found a man in his late 40s lying in the roadway near vehicle debris.

Police say he was taken to the hospital but the vehicle that hit him was nowhere to be found.

The North Vancouver RCMP is appealing to the public in hopes of finding any potential witnesses.

“The investigation is in its earliest stages and it’s very important that we continue our efforts to gather all available evidence,” Const. Mansoor Sahak said in a release Thursday afternoon.

Mounties are asking anyone with any information, dash cam footage, or surveillance footage related to the hit-and-run to call the RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file 23-22428.
