New inclusive coffee bar to open at YVR

Weary travellers at Vancouver International Airport will have a new option to get their caffeine fix starting Monday.

Paper Planes Café, an inclusive and accessible coffee bar, is opening in the airport’s domestic arrivals section and will be the first of its kind in a Canadian airport, according to YVR.

The staff of the café are all members of the neurodiverse community, with varying abilities. According to a release by the airport, the café will prepare snacks and drinks for busy travellers, while also fostering an inclusive environment for both staff and customers.

An event will be hosted by the airport and Pacific Autism Family Network on Monday to mark the opening of the café.
