Pedestrian succumbs to injuries days after Vancouver crash

Vancouver police say one of two pedestrians hit by a car in Kitsilano earlier this month has since died of her injuries.

The VPD says officers were called to the area off Balsam Street and West 4th Avenue around 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 19.

Two vehicles reportedly “slid through the intersection,” eventually colliding with a 53-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man who had been standing at the corner.

The drivers and passengers of the vehicles involved in the crash were not physically hurt, according to police.

Police say the two pedestrians were taken to the hospital, adding “their injuries did not appear life threatening” at the time.

According to the VPD, the woman’s condition worsened after she was admitted. She succumbed to her injuries on Oct. 25.

Investigators are hoping to speak with anyone who may have dash-cam video or who witnessed the incident. Those with information are asked to call 604-717-3012.
