Police incident in Langley Friday led to road closures extending overnight into Saturday morning

Mounties said Friday they were dealing with a police incident in Langley near the U.S. border, leading to road closures on 0 Avenue between 224 and 240 Streets.

The closures extended overnight into Saturday morning, and police have not confirmed whether or not the incident is ongoing.

BC Emergency Health Services told CityNews it was called out to a home on 0 Avenue near 235 Street just after 4:30 p.m., and that they did not transport anyone from the scene.

The Langley RCMP has not confirmed what caused the incident and says it is unable to provide any further information on the matter at this time, but says the BC RCMP has taken over the file.

The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC said Saturday it is now involved in the file and will release more information later in the day.
