Pattullo Bridge to close overnight Wednesday

The Pattullo Bridge, which connects Surrey and New Westminster, will close overnight Wednesday, according to the Pattullo Bridge Replacement project website.

The bridge will close in both directions from 8 p.m. Wednesday until 5 a.m. Thursday.

The website says the closure is required so lane configurations can be updated to “accomodate additional construction activities.”

The work was originally scheduled for Nov. 10, but it was delayed due to a strong windstorm that ended up causing power outages for 200,000 B.C. residents.

Drivers are encouraged to take either the Port Mann or the Alex Fraser during the closure.
