Tourism New Westminster searching for Price is Right contestant who lost his trip

Tourism New Westminster is searching for a Price is Right contestant who guessed wrong and lost a trip to the city on Monday.

Phillip had to correctly guess how much a trip to New Westminster would cost, but he unfortunately overestimated the value by $3,000 USD. Host Drew Carey’s response grabbed a lot of attention online.

“That’s way less than I thought it was gonna be, we haven’t had a $5,000 trip in a while,” he said. “Philip, don’t blame yourself for that one, that was a tough one,” he said.

In hopes of tracking down Phillip and bringing him to check out and enjoy the city, Tourism New Westminster has launched the hashtag #SearchForPhillip online. Spokesperson Gerardo Corro says, if they can find Phillip, they’ll offer him a free round trip from Los Angeles.

“Please people in the audience help us find Philip, go and use #SearchForPhilip, we’re looking for you,” he said.

“Phillip, we’re looking for you. If you’re out there, please reach out. We’re gonna bring you to New West and give you the time of your life.”

While Corro admits New Westminster isn’t the most luxurious of destinations, he’s hoping an exciting trip for Phillip can show people what the city has to offer.

“We want to show everyone, so why not do it through the eyes of Phillip,” he said.

Corro says he’ll be offered a four-night stay at the Inn at the Quay, two tickets to a local magic show, and a beer-tasting tour for two.

Editor’s Note: This story has been updated to correct Corro’s first name is Gerardo, not Herardo.
