There were no ghouls or ghosts on Quadra Island this Halloween despite some mysterious screams that sounded “eerily human.”
Quadra Island RCMP say they responded to someone calling out for help near a ravine on Oct. 30.
Someone passing by a ravine had heard something strange and was concerned someone may have fallen down a cliff.
Further investigations determined that the noises were coming from a goat on a farm nearby. A rather “sad” goat, police said.
The mother goat’s babies had been removed from her, and was calling out for them — all while sounding “eerily human,” said the RCMP.
The next evening, which was Halloween, officers were alerted to more mysterious screaming coming from the cemetery.
When they got there and found two people in the bushes who were screaming because one of them had lost their scarf.
