Burnaby RCMP looks for witnesses after pedestrian killed in crash

Mounties in Burnaby are looking for witnesses and dash cam footage after a 70-year-old woman was hit by a car and died on Thursday.

The RCMP says investigators have spoken with the driver involved but note “more information is needed to determine the circumstances that led up to the incident.”

“We believe there are a few specific vehicles with dash cam video that could assist in our investigation,” said Corp. Mike Kalanj.

“If you have recorded video of any type, including dash cam or electronic vehicle cameras, in the area at the time of the incident, please contact our investigators.”

Specifically, police are looking for anyone who may have video from Hastings Street between Madison and Rosser avenues between 10:50 a.m. and 11:10 a.m.

Mounties were called to area around 11 a.m. Thursday for reports that a woman had been hit by a car. The incident shut Hastings down in both directions between Madison and Rosser for several hours.
