Vancouver police have released new images related to an incident last fall that saw three people stabbed and one person assaulted following a fight in Fairview.
It happened in the area of Oak Street and West Broadway around 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 30, 2022. The VPD says officers arrived to find three people with “serious stab wounds,” adding the suspects are believed to have left the area before police got there.
Photos released on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, show two suspects the VPD believes were involved in the triple stabbing. It’s believed the suspects and victims did not know each other and that “the stabbings were the result of a confrontation between two groups of people inside the restaurant.”
“Investigators from VPD’s Major Crime Section immediately launched an investigation and over the past year, a number of investigative steps have been done including the execution of numerous search warrants, DNA testing of forensic evidence from the scene, witness interviews and a review of surveillance video,” said Const. Tania Visintin.
“Investigators haven’t been able to identify the two men involved in the crime, and are now turning to the public for their help.”
The two men are described as being in their 30s. They both have what appears to be dark beards.
Police say the first suspect has a slim build, and was wearing a dark ball cap and puffy vest on top of a crew neck sweater.
The second suspect has a heavy build, and was wearing a dark jacket over a white t-shirt at the time of the incident, the VPD adds.
Police are asking anyone who may have information about what happened or who recognizes either of the suspects to contact the VPD Major Crime Section at 604-717-2541.
