Charges laid after 2022 RV crash in West Vancouver sent 6 to hospital

A person has been charged Thursday in relation to a terrifying crash on Highway 1 in West Vancouver more than a year ago.

The crash happened on Sept. 21 2022 at 11:30 a.m. and involved a motorhome barreling down the wrong way on the highway.

“Early reports indicate that the driver of the motorhome was travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes when the vehicle caused two other vehicles to swerve before going head-on with the third and final vehicle,” police said at the time.

The West Vancouver Police Department says the driver in the RV hit three cars and as a result, six people were sent to the hospital.

At the time, Darren Grieve with the CityNews Air Patrol said the crash was one of the worst he’s ever seen.

“It was on my mind for most of the evening. I don’t think I’ve seen a crash with that much damage to the vehicles involved — to the point where you’ve got two and three and four vehicles all in a big pile there and you really couldn’t tell one from the other. Never seen it before. Eight years I’ve been doing this, never seen it,” he said.

Twenty-nine-year-old Alexandra Georgson is facing five counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
