Chilliwack crash leaves 1 dead: RCMP

A driver is dead after a single-vehicle collision in Chilliwack Saturday evening.
Just before 7 p.m., the Chilliwack RCMP says it received a report of a vehicle that “had become airborne before crashing roadside” near Chilliwack Lake Road.
Despite life-saving efforts from Emergency Health Services and the Chilliwack River Valley Fire Department, emergency officials say the driver, who was the single-occupant of the vehicle, was declared deceased at the scene.
Police say the roadway has since reopened after it was temporarily closed for officers to investigate the scene.
“The Chilliwack RCMP would like to thank the public for their patience during the road closures.”
