Vehicle crashes into Vancouver house after hit-and-run early Sunday morning

A two-vehicle incident resulted in one vehicle crashing into a house near Nanaimo and 26th Street in Vancouver early Sunday morning, Vancouver Fire Rescue Services tells CityNews.

Vancouver police were called to this incident for a “hit-and-run,” Assistant Fire Chief Peter Morin says. A 35-year-old man was trapped inside a car and crews had to get him out after the incident, which occurred shortly before 5 a.m.

“It sounded like it was a two-vehicle MVI (motor vehicle incident) that caused one vehicle to end up in a house,” Morin said. “No issues with the structure of the house.”

The man was conscious and breathing, Morin says.

There is no word so far on the driver of the second car.

CityNews has reached out to the Vancouver Police Department for more information.

This is a developing story.
