Abbotsford woman wins $1 million in lottery

A woman in Abbotsford says she feels “blessed” after finding out she won the million dollar lottery ticket.

Susan Hoce bought a winning Lotto 6/49 ticket on Nov. 18 from the British Columbia Lotto Corporations (BCLC) kiosk inside Walmart on Mount Lehman Road.

She said she thought at first she won $10,000, but then soon realized she’d copped the $1 million win.

“I couldn’t see the numbers properly and thought it was a glitch. It didn’t make any sound and I thought maybe $1,000 or $10,000,” she said in the BCLC’s release.

Hoce says the money comes at an ideal time for her to “take the pressure off.”

She plans to use her winning money to pay off her mortgage and retire.
