A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family of two adults and a child who died after a fatal crash on Highway 99 Sunday morning.
According to Sea to Sky RCMP Insp. Robert Dykstra, the vehicle was heading north near Daisy Lake Dam, south of Whistler, when it crashed. Three of the four occupants in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
The three victims have been identified in the GoFundMe as 22-year-old Josafat Portillo, his 2-year-old daughter Natalia and his brother-in-law James Paguia.
Iris Paguia Portillo, mother of Natalia and wife of Josafat, survived the crash and is at the hospital where she’s reported to be in stable conditon, according to the police.
They were heading home from a “church gathering” when the incident occurred, the GoFundMe page states.
The fundraiser aims to raise $40,000 to support the family with funeral arrangements during the difficult time.
“This is an absolute tragedy and our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the families, friends, and loved ones of those involved and who will be impacted by this loss,” said Dykstra.
The collision is not believed to be criminal in nature, he added.
