2 teens dead after Quesnel car crash: RCMP

Mounties in Quesnel, B.C. say two teens have died after their car crashed into a tree early Sunday morning.

According to the Quesnel RCMP, a 17-year-old boy and girl were heading eastbound when their car veered off Barkerville Highway.

Police say they were notified around 5:37 a.m. and found the two teens dead at the scene.

While police have yet to find the cause of the collision, they say no other vehicles were involved.

“The Quesnel RCMP would like to offer our condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of the two teens during this tragic time,” said Sgt. Clay Kronebusch.

This comes after a deadly weekend on B.C.’s roads, including a crash just south of Whistler that killed three people —including a two-year-old girl, and another crash in Surrey that killed a passenger on Saturday night.
