Canucks trade Anthony Beauvillier to Blackhawks for fifth-round pick

The Vancouver Canucks have traded forward Anthony Beauvillier to the Chicago Blackhawks for a 2024 fifth-round pick, the clubs announced Tuesday.
In 22 games this season, Beauvillier has two goals and eight points.
No salary was retained in the trade as the Canucks cleared $4.15 million of cap space. Beauvillier was in the final year of his deal.
The Blackhawks gained $6 million in cap space with Taylor Hall being placed on long-term injured reserve with a season-ending knee injury. Chicago will also open up another $4 million in space once they terminate Corey Perry’s contract after placing the veteran forward on waivers Tuesday.
Vancouver initially acquired Beauvillier from the New York Islanders as part of the Bo Horvat trade. In 55 games with the Canucks, Beauvillier had 11 goals and 28 points.
“We would like to thank Anthony for his time here in Vancouver,” Canucks GM Patrik Allvin said in a statement. “We wish him all the best in Chicago.”
The 26-year-old has recorded 102 goals and 209 points in 457 career games. The Islanders selected the Sorel-Tracy, Que., native 28th overall in the 2015 NHL Draft.
