Abbotsford police say a 62-year-old man has been arrested and charged with sex offences involving children.
Police say they launched an investigation in March into “a historic sexual assault allegation,” though it’s not clear when the incident is said to have occurred.
As a result of their probe, investigators say they identified a suspect “with a pattern of offending.”
On Thursday, police announced that David Douglas had been charged with four counts of sexual interference, two count of making sexually explicit material available to child, two counts of making child pornography, one count of possession of child pornography, one count of invitation to sexual touching, and one count of child luring via telecommunication.
“This was a months-long investigation involving offences spanning multiple years, which required a large quantity of investigative material to be reviewed and assessed for evidentiary value,” said Sgt. Kevin Small.
Police are now asking any potential victims to come forward and call 604-864-4702.
