Coquitlam RCMP seek witnesses after man found injured, unconscious

The Coquitlam RCMP are asking for the public’s help after a man was found unconscious and injured in the Eagle Ridge neighborhood Friday night.

Mounties say just before midnight on Friday, a 56-year-old man was found unconscious and laying in a bicycle lane on Guildford Way near Falcon Drive.

The man suffered “significant injuries to his head” and was subsequently transported to hospital, police say.

The RCMP says the man is believed to have been walking east on the south side of Guildford Way between 11:00 p.m. and 11:55 p.m.

Police describe the man as bald, with a brown beard, blue eyes and heavy build. They add he was wearing a black suit, blazer and white dress shirt, with either dark dress shoes or bare feet.

“Police are attempting to piece together the timeline of events which led to the man’s injuries,” said Cpl. Alexa Hodgins.

Hodgins says anyone who may have seen “a lone man in a dark dress suit” walking in the area Friday evening should contact the Coquitlam RCMP.

Any information, dash-cam or cell-phone video regarding this investigation can be submitted by calling the Coquitlam RCMP’s non-emergency number at 604-945-1550. File number 2023-32463 can be quoted when calling.
