Police seek ‘dangerous’ suspect after Victoria suburb home invasion

Mounties in a suburb of Victoria are investigating two alleged home invasions in the past two days.

It is unclear whether or not the incidents are related to each other, and no suspects have been located.

In the most recent event, which took place just before 3 a.m. Saturday at a home on Middle Road in View Royal, the West Shore RCMP says a man entered a home and “discharged what may have been a firearm” and then fled. One person in the house suffered minor injuries.

Police warn the suspect “may be armed and is considered dangerous.” RCMP say he was wearing dark pants, bright white shoes, and a hoodie at the time of the incident.

The previous incident took place shortly before 5 p.m. Friday in Langford. Police say a man entered a home on Glen Lake Road near Jenkins Avenue holding what is believed to be a firearm. He then fled.

The suspect is being described as a man in his late 20s to early 30s with no facial hair and short to medium dark hair, between five-foot-six and five-foot-eight with a slim build. The suspect is believed to have a dime-sized red mark — possibly a birthmark of a scar — on his right cheek. He was wearing a black hat, black jacket, grey shirt, dark pants, and sneakers with black and white stripes.

Police are asking residents who live in either area to check their home surveillance or dash cam areas around the times of the crimes. Anyone with any information is being asked to call the RCMP at 250-474-2264.
