Cypress Mountain opening Thursday with limited terrain available

West Vancouver’s Cypress Mountain is opening for the season on Thursday.

However, it won’t be a free-for-all for skiers and snowboarders just yet, as Cypress Mountain staff say there will be limited terrain available for the time being.

“Our dedicated and expert team has been hard at work this week with efforts to open as much terrain as possible,” reads an excerpt from the mountain’s announcement.

Cypress Mountain says it’s Easy Rider Quad Chair will be open from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on opening day, and then from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. moving forward.

It adds that, while terrain on the slopes is low at this early stage of the season, it will prioritize season pass holders and Sky Card holders — giving those looking for single-day passes a limited quantity to get their hands on.

Tickets can be bought for as low as $54.
