1 injured after possible targeted shooting in Mission: police

Mounties in Mission say a man is seriously injured after a possible targeted shooting at a Superstore parking lot on Wednesday evening.

The Mission RCMP says officers were called to the grocery store near Lougheed and Wren streets with reports that multiple shots were fired at a vehicle at 7:30 p.m.

Police say they found the man inside the parked vehicle, he was then hospitalized with serious injuries

Mounties say “initial indications” show this shooting was targeted.

“Our serious crime unit is handling this case, and we will likely have more information available in the coming days,” said Cpl. Harrison Mohr.

“Witnesses describe a vehicle fleeing from the scene, however, we are still working to confirm a description.”

Police say the Lougheed Highway Superstore’s parking lot will remain closed for the night and potentially into the morning as their investigation continues.

Mounties are “unclear” about the extent of the man’s injuries at this time.

Anyone with any information on the shooting is asked to call the Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.
