Police investigating targeted North Delta shooting

Police in Delta say one person has been hospitalized after a shooting Thursday evening.

The Delta Police Department (DPD) believes the shooting may have been targeted and related to the B.C. gang conflict.

Photos from the scene showed multiple police vehicles, a police dog, a firetruck, and a white tent in the taped-off area.

The shooting happened at around 5:45 p.m., and police say any suspects have since left the area.

The DPD closed 82nd Avenue between 110 and 112 streets as officers conducted their investigation.

Police say there is no further risk to the public, and added no further information will be released for now.

The DPD asks anyone with any information, dash camera, or CCTV footage from the area to call them at 604-946-4411.
