Are you still missing some Amazon packages? Turns out the very people who were supposed to drop them off might’ve snatched them.
The Burnaby RCMP says three delivery drivers working for Amazon have been arrested in the last few months after allegedly stealing packages and then trying to re-sell the items online.
Mounties say the first incident happened on Sept. 10, when officers received a report of a driver stealing the deliveries.
“On September 29, 2023, a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s Vancouver residence. Police seized 32 packages worth approximately $2,200. The suspect, a 28-year-old man, was arrested and released pending charge approval,” Corp. Mike Kalanj said Thursday.
On Nov. 16, a similar report came through to Mounties, and on Nov. 22, a search warrant was issued for another driver’s Surrey residence.
“The suspect, a 26-year-old man, now faces six counts of theft which have been forwarded to the BC Prosecution Service for consideration of charges,” Kalanj noted.

Meanwhile, in the latest report, Burnaby RCMP officers conducted a search warrant at a separate Vancouver home, where a 25-year-old man was arrested and then released. He is also facing three counts of theft.
“The items stolen include everything from a $627 men’s watch to a $35 Apple AirTag,” Kalanj said.
“It is unusual to see these types of thefts, let alone a pattern of separate incidents, as safeguards and security measures put in place by these types of businesses are often an effective deterrent.
“In all three of these cases, information gathered by Amazon was key in the investigation and the recovery of the goods.”
Kalanj notes that through the investigation, there is “nothing to indicate the three incidents are linked.”
