Two dead after single vehicle collision in rural Nanaimo

Two people are dead after a single motor vehicle collision in rural Nanaimo, according to RCMP.
Nanaimo RCMP says it attended the crash on Nanaimo River Road, near the Nanaimo Lakes Deadwood campground, shortly before 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
The incident, which occurred approximately 15 kilometres west of the Trans Canada Highway, led to two individuals being pronounced dead at the scene.
Nanaimo River Road will be closed in both directions until further notice, police say. There’s no alternative route around the investigation, they add.
The BC Coroner Service is investigating the incident and no foul play is suspected.
