A death in Ladner previously deemed suspicious is now being called a homicide, as investigators have since announced a murder charge.
The Delta Police Department (DPD) say since finding the woman’s body at a home near 47A Avenue at around 5 p.m. on Monday, investigators have now determined the woman’s death was a homicide.
28-year-old Preety Teena Kaur Panesar has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

The DPD says Panesar had a “familial relationship” with the now-deceased woman.
Panesar has been arrested and she remains in police custody, and the DPD says it will provide no further details on the matter “in consideration of the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings.”
Early indications released Monday deemed the woman’s death suspicious in nature, but not related to the BC Gang Conflict.
