Pedestrian hit by car in Langley suffers serious injuries: RCMP

Mounties in Langley are investigating a serious crash that sent a pedestrian to the hospital with serious injuries.

The RCMP says the pedestrian was hit around 4:30 p.m. in the intersection of 268 Street and 26A Avenue by a white Dodge pick up truck.

Investigators explain the driver appeared to have been trying to turn left from 268 Street onto 26A Avenue when they hit the person, who was crossing the road.

“The driver of the pick up truck remained at scene and provided first aid until first responders arrived,” the RCMP said in an email to CityNews.

The female pedestrian, whom police say they are still trying to identify, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The RCMP says alcohol does not appear to have played a role in this crash, and adds weather conditions may have contributed to what happened.
