Langley police say an elderly woman is seriously injured and can’t identify herself after being hit by a vehicle in Aldergrove on Monday.
Mounties say she was hit by a white Dodge pickup truck while walking along 268 Street and crossing 26A Avenue just after 4:20 p.m. The truck driver stopped and gave the woman first aid treatment until emergency crews arrived.
The woman was then transported hospital, where she remains in “critical condition” with life-threatening injuries.
The Langley RCMP is appealing to the public in hopes of identifying this crash victim, as Cpl. Craig van Herk explains she hasn’t been able to tell anyone who she is.
“Investigators are hoping the public may be able to help identify her, which would also connect us with her family,” he said.
Mounties describe her as a woman of Asian or Filipino descent in her early 70s who is five feet tall and 110 lbs. At the time of the crash, she was wearing a black jacket, black shoes with white soles, holding a black umbrella, and pulling a foldable fabric shopping cart.
Police ask anyone who can identify the woman to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
